Budweiser "Sports" Cars

While looking through the Budweiser style guide one day I noticed the the famous beer company was heavily involved in sports of all sorts. The Budweiser "Sports" Cars series used several of our most popular 1:43rd scale Matchbox cars. I was able to match up a specific car to six of the sports that Budweiser was supporting. Each theme has a joke attached to the car.

Budweiser "Sports" Cars:

There was the Budweiser "Fly Fishing" Barracuda (not that you would go fly fishing for barracuda).

Budweiser "Sports" Cars:

Dodge Chargers were very popular in NASCAR racing in the late '60s.

Budweiser "Sports" Cars:

*The "Boxing Bel Air" was just a play on words.

Budweiser "Sports" Cars:

Michelob beer was into golfing, so what else would a Michelob car be but the "Golf Caddy."

Budweiser "Sports" Cars:

Bud Light was into Rodeo events, so the 1964-1/2 Mustang was perfect for this brand.

Budweiser "Sports" Cars:

And last, but certainly not the least we have the Bud "Bowling Beetle."
